The Wheel Chair Arrives!!!
Sierra’s wheel chair arrived!!! I took everything out of the box and looked it over. The chair came in two parts. Then their was a nifty tote bag with harnesses and straps.
I got out the manual and got started. After our elderly neighbor stopping giving me helpful tips like “Oh, I think that’s too tall”, putting the chair together was a piece of cake. They really made it quite simple.
The difficult part was adjusting it to Sierra’s size. I had watched a video that showed how to measure the dog and how to adjust the chair to the right length, width, and height.
It took some doing, but I eventually ended up with this…

Waking Up with Three Legs
Three and a half years ago, my leg was bothering me. I went to the Vets and they were very kind. But, when I woke up I only had three legs. You can imagine my shock and horror.
I had gotten rather fond of that lumpy leg. Then it was gone. What’s a 10 year old dog to do?
Only thing I could…I adjusted and moved on. Now I’m the oldest in the pack at 13. My bones are creaking and it takes me a little longer to get where I’m going.
But there’s still good treats to be had and sunspots to be laid in! And, you sure get alot of attention with three legs.
Welcome to the New Simple Pleasures Blog
As I hit a brick wall on this blog, I’ve decided to switch gears. This blog will now focus on disabled pets. Mostly it will be about my dog, Sierra, who is an amputee. But, I will also include stories about other animals with disabilities and those who help others.
I will tell Sierra’s story as well as write about the ups and downs of life with a disabled dog. I hope everyone will find this blog informative and interesting to read.
Stay tuned…
