At midnight, I took Sierra outside for her last potty stop of the night. She was a little constipated and trying to do her business.

Then I heard that unmistakable sound–the stomach knock. She proceeded to throw up her entire dinner all over the grass.

We went back inside. She laid down and I began to fret. She had taken her first Tramadol that morning. Did it cause her to have an upset stomach? I decided to call the Vet in the morning to be sure it wasn’t the cause of her problems. You never know with Sierra. Since she was a pup, she has thrown up every 3-4 weeks almost like clockwork. She’s been checked out and no problems have been found. It’s just one of those quirky things.

I talked to the Vet. She feels that since 15 hours passed between taking the Tramadol and the vomiting that it wasn’t the cause. It was decided that I give Sierra a break for a day, then give it to her again on Thursday.

She has seemed fine all day. She got up to poop at 5 am–taking care of that problem. She ate breakfast at 9 am and took her other medications without problem. It may be that she just got her stomach worked up because she was having trouble doing her business. Let’s hope so anyway!
